Work details are a requirement for all families that join the HBQVB Athletic Association. Please keep in mind that all families are asked to complete 5 work details with each shift being 3 hours, totaling 15 hours a year. Work details are very important to the league and your child because they keep the costs down, ensure a safe environment, allow league members to bond, and provides and opportunity for the parents to see what the league is about.

There are five ways that you can complete details....

1. Field Duty: Field duty is held each Saturday and Sunday beginning March 7th. The work details on these days begin at 9:00am and end at 12:00pm. Please do not arrive late. During field duty, we complete alot of different projects and tasks as well as ensure the fields are ready for your children. It is a VERY important part of the HBQVB operation.
   
2. Concession Stand: The concession stand needs nightly volunteers in order to service all the families and players that utilize it daily. This is a fun way to do your details. Remember, the HBQVB Concession stand is our biggest fundraiser for the league. You must sign up in advance for the stand which is able to be done at the field beginning April 4th at 9:00am. Everyday that we have games the stand will be open.
   
3. Umpiring: If you are interested in umpiring for work details, you may do so by calling Mike Pfeiffer at 646-209-7534. Some experience is required but can also be taught! Come and try out one of the hardest jobs on a field besides the kids.
   
4. Special Trades: HBQVB is always in need of trade employees. This includes electricians, plumbers, carpenters, etc... We can and will you use you! Please see any field committee member at the field during details.
   
5. Sponsor: Work Details are NOT waived for sponsors. However, sponsoring allows us to do more for your child, the complex, and the league. Remember, sponsoring has its tax benefits too!

Work details are a fun way to help the league. Most families do not look at is as a requirement, more of an opportunity to help the league and meet some great new people.

Please keep in mind, you must have three (3) details completed by May 31st. Failure to do so will result in your child being suspended from play. Failure to complete all five details will result in a $75.00 fee per missing detail. We much rather have the work than the money!!
