League Questions

When is opening day?

Opening day is scheduled for April 17th.  On this day, we meet at 10:30am at 217th Street and Hillside Avenue for a parade that starts at this point and continues down Hillside Avenue to our property.  We ask that all players come in full uniform.  After the parade, we have a brief ceremony and then PLAY BALL!!

Where are all the games?

One of the best parts about being with HBQVB AA is that all games are scheduled in our private complex.  The only time you will go out and travel to play is special arrangements that we make with outside leagues and all-stars/tournaments.  We often like to have our players travel local to other leagues to face other competition, see other fields and get that experience.

I have a concern, suggestion, or question!

Feel free to check out our contact us page to determine who the best person to call is.  We are here to help you and answer any questions or conerns you may have!

What does my registration fee cover?

Your $125.00 registration fee covers your full players uniform including hat, pants, socks, sweatshirt and league shirt.  It covers your secondary insurance, and Approx 17 games (weather permitting).  Also included is the Floral Park Bulliten you will receive weekly to your house.

My Team

What team am I on?

After the drafts being held in mid march, your manager will call you to notify you what team you are on.  ALl of our teams carry the sponsors name and the manager will also give you his contact information.  If you do not here anything a week after the drafts, please click here to find the name of your division head.  You may call them for assistance.

When are my practices?

Practices are scheduled by your team manager at a convienent time for everyone.  Most practices are held at local parks as we do not open our complex until opening day for league activities.  We encourage managers to hold practices regularly and to continue practices during season.

Does my child have to play?

All players are required to play 3 innings and bat at least once.  During the early part of the season this can be tough as light does not allow it.   Keep in mind, your child needs to show up to practices and make an effort.

Padavan-Preller Fields

What is Padavan-Preller Fields?

Padavan-Preller fields is your HOME!  The Padavan-Preller fields is the property belonging to HBQVB AA where we host our league functions.  This property is where you do your work details and help to maintain.  It is a safe and secure environment for your child.

What does the complex have?

The HBQVB Complex has 9 baseball/softball fields, concession stand, bathrooms, offices, equipment rooms, batting cages, parking lot, and more!  Every field has an irrigation system so that we can water our fields during the summer.
